Lewisham Coalition Calls for Coordinated Fight Against Privatisation
A coalition aimed at protecting public services in Lewisham is gathering momentum. Lewisham people have decided enough is enough!
The Lewisham People Before Profit campaign aims to stand up to the widespread privatisation of education, health, transport, council housing that Lewisham has suffered in recent years.
The campaign has drawn together a range of local campaigns such as Save Lewisham Bridge School, Deptford Needs a Job Centre, Keep our NHS Public, Lewisham Gateway Action Group, Save Ladywell Pool, Hands off our Homes and Lewisham Anti Racist Action Group (LARAG) along with the NUT.
Lewisham People Before Profit aim to facilitate a coordinated campaign against privatisation. They will stand candidates in May 2010’s local elections as well as the next Lewisham Mayoral election.
